Welcome to SOTApics

SOTApics is a community platform for radio amateurs who take part in Summits on the Air (SOTA). Activators can easily upload photos and videos from their expeditions in real time using Telegram. Chasers can follow activations live as they happen, and also browse past activations to relive the adventure through media shared directly from the summits.

How to use the Telegram Bot

  1. Search for @SOTApicsBot on Telegram or click here.
  2. Send /callsign YOURCALL to register your callsign.
  3. Start an activation with /ref SOTA_REF (e.g., /ref EA3/BC-001 or even /ref ea3bc001).
  4. Send one or more photos or videos. You can also add captions.
  5. Once you're done, sending /ref NEW_SOTA_REF (e.g., /ref EA3/GI-010) will automatically close the current activation and start a new one.

You don’t need to install anything. Just use Telegram and go on air!
